Auntie Mel AND G & G Moeller Come to Visit

Auntie Mel flew in from Iowa to celebrate Kai's FIRST birthday with us!  She was here for a week and Grammy and Papa Moeller were here for a month!  Kai is loved by his family so much!!!

Grammy Donna & Papa Woody offered to take Kai for the night so Kirk could come down and watch my race.  He's always been the best husband and offers his support and love!  We spent the night in La Jolla so we could be near the starting line.  We walked to a great dinner and got a good nights rest.

Of course I wouldn't be able to do any of these races if it weren't for my best friend Emily.  She's been the perfect training partner since we started running together in 2010.  It seems like we've been doing it much longer than that.  She is the only person that can really understand the pain, commitment, determination and early mornings it takes to train.  Not to mention caring for a small child and breastfeeding!  She is also the only person that will understand the joy, happiness, power and sense of accomplishment it gives us.
