EASTER!!!

As tradition has it, we spent Easter in Orange County at Aunt Reenie and Uncle Jeff's house.  Kirk (and the rest of us) always looks forward to Uncle Jeff's FAMOUS SALMON!!  It's delicious!!  Aunt Reenie also makes a fantastic bunny cake that we love!

The cousin's (Melissa, Kirk, Jaclyn, Bobby, Jillian, Ryan and Michael) still participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. This is where we compete to find over 300 hidden eggs that are filled with candy and money.  There is also a money reward for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and sometimes 4th, 5th,6th and 7th place!!!!  I was thinking that since Kirk and I are parents now, we could get out of it this year......... NO WAY!!  But, Kai will be walking next year, so I think we'll be off the hook.

SOLIDS!

We waited until Kai was 6 months old to begin solid foods, per the recommendation by pediatricians.  So far we have tried avocados, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, broccoli, strawberries, and apples.  He isn't too fond of solids at all.  We continue to have him sit in his high chair each night, just to get him used to it.  We attempt to give him a few bites here and there.  Hopefully, he will become more interested in food with time.

Kirk's Birthday Surprise!

I wanted to give Kirk an awesome surprise for his birthday, so I decided to take him skydiving!!  I told him what we were doing about 3 minutes before we arrived at the airport where we would be jumping out of the plane 16,000 feet high.  Our parents, Kaison, and Special Grandma all got to watch.  I had made plans for all of them to secretly meet us there.

Here we are signing our lives away!!

I think he has more important things to be worrying about than bumping his head as he enters the plane

5 Months!

Kai is taking about 3 naps a day and sleeping through the night most of the time, which is about 12 hours. We started using a sippy cup to drink water from.  Kai enjoys sleeping on his tummy.  He can now roll from his back to his stomach.  Kai does well sitting through Sunday church services.  We started going to the library once a week and he loves watching all the other children.

Kai loves his cousin Annabelle, who is 13 months older than him
